Customize the appearance settings

You can customize the appearance of the website and app.

Customize the theme

Website

• Visit GeyserTimes with your browser.
• Log in to your account.
• In the Profile & Settings card, turn Night Mode on to always use the dark theme or off to always use the light theme.

Android

• Open the GeyserTimes app.
• In the bottom navigation bar, tap Settings.
• In the Appearance settings, tap Theme.
• Tap the desired theme (e.g. Device default, if you want the app to use the system's theme).

The following themes are available:

Theme	Description
Device default	Uses the system's theme setting to determine whether to use dark or light theme.
Battery saver	Uses dark theme when the system's battery saver is enabled and light theme otherwise.
Scheduled	Switches between dark and light theme depending on the time of day, i.e., dark theme at night and light theme in the day.
Light	Always uses the light theme.
Dark	Always uses the dark theme.

iOS

The app always uses the system's theme setting to determine whether to use dark or light theme on iOS.

Customize the design for day summary and timeline

Website

The website always uses a data table orientated design for the logbook and timeline views.

Android

• Open the GeyserTimes app.
• In the bottom navigation bar, tap Settings.
• In the Appearance settings, turn Table mode on to use a data table orientated design or off to use a list orientated design for the day summary and timeline.

iOS

The app always uses a list orientated design for the day summary and timeline on iOS.

Customize the color of geyser icons

Website

This feature is not available on the website.

Android

• Open the GeyserTimes app.
• In the bottom navigation bar, tap Settings.
• In the Appearance settings, turn Colorful geyser icons on to use a geyser basin based color for geyser icons or off to always use blue geyser icons.

iOS

The app always uses blue geyser icons on iOS.

Customize the time zone

Website

Unless otherwise noted, the website diplays all times in Mountain Time.

Android

• Open the GeyserTimes app.
• In the bottom navigation bar, tap Settings.
• In the Appearance settings, tap Time zone.
• Tap the desired time zone (e.g. Mountain Time (Yellowstone), if you want the app to display times in Mountain Time).

The following time zones are available:

• Mountain Time (Yellowstone)
• Greenwich Mean Time (Iceland)
• New Zealand Time (New Zealand)
• Kamchatka Time (Kamtchatka)
• Chile Time (El Tatio)

iOS

Unless otherwise noted, the app diplays all times in Mountain Time on iOS.

Customize your favorite geysers

Website

• Visit GeyserTimes with your browser.
• Log in to your account.
• In the Profile & Settings card, click Choose Selected Geysers...
• Type the names of up to 15 geysers.

tip

The time elapsed since the last recorded eruption of each selected geyser will display on the GeyserTimes homepage in the Last Known Eruption card.

Android

• Open the GeyserTimes app.
• In the bottom navigation bar, tap Settings.
• In the Appearance settings, tap Time zone.
• Select your favorite geysers.

tip

You can see the last eruption, the last note entered after the last eruption, and the prediction for your favorite geysers on your personalized For You screen:

• Open the GeyserTimes app.
• In the bottom navigation bar, tap For You.

iOS

This feature is not available on the app for iOS yet.
